Hornets Card of the Day

LaMelo Ball
In 2019-20, the Hornets finished with the sixth-fewest assists in the league. Searching for a playmaker in the following draft, they hit a home run with Ball. Unafraid to make any pass as a first-year dimer, he dished 6.1 assists per night and helped Charlotte finish with the league's fifth-most helpers.

Name that player!

Great backup point guard.go-go pace allows Hornets to play uptempo game 40 minutes...dangerous, though erratic, three point shooter... excellent open court passer and deadly accurate free throw shooter.... weak one-on-one defender, but has knack for steals.

Like a fine wine, Rozier only gets better with age. Typically at his best in the fourth quarter, he plays with top-notch energy and makes defenders whine with fatigue. With his tireless triples and clutch creation of shots, the guard makes Charlotte an exhausting team to close out.

"LJ," always the intense competitor, displays his customary roar as he converts two in a victory over Chicago, 2-20-95. Johnson, known for his aggressive and emotional play, is often called on by Charlotte coach Allan Bristow, to "take the bull: by the horns" and lead his team to victory.

Malik Monk
He plays in a tank top, but Monk always has a trick up his sleeve. When he capped a 47-point game vs. North Carolina on Dec. 17, 2016 with the winning 3-pointer, he surprised Kentucky coach John Calipari. "I said, 'Drive the ball Drive the ball!' And he shot a 3 and it went in," he said. "So I said, 'Great shot, kid."
