Name that player!

A rough, tough, rugged rebounder who last season developed into a stickout scorer. His forte is outleaping and outscrambling rivals for rebounds off his own backboard and either dropping them in or tapping them in for scores. He is fast despite his size. His exceptional strength makes him a tough man at the pivot post from which he can shoot with either hand. He was the team's third highest scorer last season.

Luther comes to the Royals with great credentials although handicapped at Xavier by poor support by teammates. Has good touch from the floor, scored 29 pts. vs. Philadelphia during the first week of the season.

The big center with the sweeping hook shot, Connie was the first round draft choice of the Syracuse Nationals in 1958. After seven years, Connie finally got to the Royals in 1965 after starring at Cincinnati in college.

Back to the Front! Royals card back du jour...

Oscar Robertson
The "Big O" was the overwhelming selection as the NBA's Rookie of the Year for 1960-61. He was even more brilliant in his first year with the Royals than he had been as a three-time college Player of the Year and All-American with the University of Cincinnati. Quickly establishing himself as one of the gate attractions of the NBA, Oscar became the first rookie guard to score more than 2,000 points. He finished fourth in scoring with 2,165 points and was the leader in assists with 690.
