Warriors Card of the Day

Manute Bol
The tallest player in NBA history, Manute is a member of the Dinka Tribe, the largest and tallest in Sudan. "The greatest shot-blocker I've ever seen" was the way coach Don Nelson described him. He finished fourth in the NBA in blocked shots in 1989-90, and has twice led the league in that category, including during his rookie year. He then went on to become the only player in league history to block over 300 shots in each of his first two seasons.

Name that player!

A fabulously effective hook shot makes Neil the most accurate performer in the game. He shares with George Mikan the distinction of winning the scoring average crown three times. Last year he registered with over 44% of his tosses and for the past 5 years, averaged more than 22 points per game.

At the start of the second half of 1992-93, Alexander was on fire, posting scoring averages of 10.8, 15.8 and 18.0 in February, March and April, respectively. He finished the season with 93 assists, the most by a Warriors center in six seasons and shared the team lead with 53 blocks.

Sonny plays the role of "swingman" for the Warriors with his ability to play both at forward and guard. He's constantly on the move, confusing his man on offense and harassing him on defense.
