Celtics Card of the Day

Kevin McHale
Kevin is a hustling power-forward who works hard to fill lanes on the fast break like a small-forward and swarms the offensive boards like a center. He has a very good medium range jumper, a jump hook against taller opponents and ability to put ball on floor and drive.

Name that player!

Led Squires in assists both 1970-71 & 1971-72. Set Squires' club scoring mark in 1971-72 season.

The Celtics' accent on youth includes Don in a vital backcourt role. He is acknowledged as the most gifted defender on the club's backcourt roster and his skills compliment those of JoJo White. Not a natural outside shooter. Don has proven his ability to penetrate, and with his great speed and size and strength, he is a real factor off the offensive backboards. He has superb reflexes.

The game's greatest playmaker and one of its top drawing cards in his 12th NBA season. A brilliant ball handler and fine shooter, this "Houdini of the Court" has never failed to be voted a place on the All-Star team. He owns a flock of records, including a fantastic 28 assists in one game, on Feb. 27, 1959, against Minneapolis. He has led the league in assists in all but three of his 11 seasons, having as many as 715 in the 1959-60 campaign. His career total of 14,477 points is topped only by Adolph Schayes.

Eddie (Bulbs) Ehlers
One of greatest athletes ever to graduate from Purdue... Bulbs was number one choice of Celtics in college draft - also number one choice of Chicago Bears in football, but he decided to stick to basketball and baseball. In baseball, Eddie is property of New York Yankees and he played second base on the Binghamton farm in the Eastern League last summer ...his batting average was a nice .323. At Purdue he was given mention on several All-American teams after one year of the pigskin game.
