Carl, an all-round athlete. holds BAA single game scoring record of 47 points made against Providence in 1947, his rookie year. He was also sixth leading scorer in BAA for the 1947-48 season with 671 points. During his collegiate days, he set all-time scoring mark for Colgate with 296 points in 16 games. Carl also holds Long Island high school record of 396 points in 17 games.
One of the most-animated players in the NBA, New York's John Starks makes his presence known on the court. Although dubbed as offensive-minded, Starks, who was never drafted, earned his spot in the league with outstanding defense. Small in comparison to many of his opponents, the 6-5 guard takes on any challenge with eagerness.
Caz was averaging more than 18 pts. when he broke his ankle last Jan. 21. Came back on sheer courage to play in 5 playoff games. Has long arms and big hands, can play forecourt or back.
