Al is a graduate of Duke University where he received his degree in mathematics in 1956. He was one of the first players selected by the Colt .45's in the NL player draft of 1961. Off to a slow start last season, the speedster batted close to .350 during the second half to boost his season mark to .285, second best on the club. He led the club in triples with nine and in walks with 72.

Talk about youngsters making the big leagues in a hurry, Chris was hurling for the Colts last year as a 19 year old rookie. The tall right-hander has never pitched in a minor league game, as he gained his diamond experience with an American Legion baseball team in Knoxville Tennessee. Chris figures heavily in the Houston Youth Movement.

Jim is one of several of the very talented youngsters that have a fine big league future with the Houston club. With only a year and a half of professional ball behind him, the outfielder showed great ability during the second half of the 1963 campaign.
