Bob Cain
Bob had the best won-and-lost record of his AL career in '52, when he tied "Satchell" Paige for most victories on the Brownie pitching staff. Bob broke in with a 12-5 mark at Bristol in '43 and turned in his best Minor League record in '46 when he posted a 13-4 mark for Manchester. He came up to the Majors with the White Sox at the end of the '49 season, went to the Tigers in May of '51 and joined the Browns in February of '52.

Name that player!

Ray was named the American League Rookie of the Year in 1949. That year he hit .306 and drove in 91 runs while playing 3rd Base and the outfield for the Browns. The sophomore jinx hit Roy in '50 and his average fell to .238. The Browns sent him down to San Antonio during the '51 season and he hit .297 in the Texas League. Roy works as an Inspector in an automobile plant during the winter.



After appearing in 9 games for the Yankees in 1951, Tommy was traded to the St. Louis Browns. He was in a total of 28 games for the sea- son. His record was 6 and 11. He began in organized baseball in 1940 with Newark. Has been plagued by wildness in career.



The Browns obtained Bill in a reported $150,000 deal with the Dodgers. He was with Ft. Worth of the Texas League in '51 and '52, The latter season, he led the League in Fielding and Stolen Bases and was given the Most Valuable Player Award. A slick fielder, Bill broke in with Three Rivers in '48; went to Nashau in '49 and played for Pueblo of the Western Association in '50.

Gordon Goldsberry
"Goldie" was traded to the Browns by the White Sox during the winter. Although he was with the White Sox all of the 1950, season and at the beginning of the 1949 and 1951 seasons, he hasn't made the grade yet. The former U.C.L.A. student spent most of the '51 season with Seattle where he hit .240 and 12 homers in 108 games. He started in the minors in 1944 and came up to the majors after hitting .289 at Memphis in '48.
