Brewers Card of the Day

Gorman Thomas
Stormin' Gorman Thomas is one of baseball's most exciting performers. He is a premier home run slugger and a gifted defensive outfielder with excellent speed and a fine arm. Originally signed by the Brewers in 1969 when they were the Seattle Pilots, he spent six seasons in the minors and was even briefly traded away to Texas before making the majors. It was a spectacular season at Spokane in 1977 in which he hit .322 with 36 homers and 114 RBI that earned him a shot with the Brewers.

Name that player!

Sal singled in each of his first three career ABS on 7/22/23, drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly and made a pair of leaping catches at the wall in right field to prevent extra-base hits. Frelick, who reached base in his first six games, tied the Brewers record for hits in an MLB debut.

Christian registered his first 30-double season in five years (and the sixth of his career) in 2023 while seeing a spike in hard-hit rate. He credited a new toe-tap for helping him stay on time with pitches.

Brice not only has dazzled the Brewers with his speed, defense and hitting ability, but also his healthy confidence. "It's swag, is what it is," says skipper Craig Counsell, who's had an up-close look in Spring Training. In 2022, Turang backed up his boldness at Triple-A, leading the system in steals (34) while ranking second in hits (152), runs and RBI.

Kolten Wong
Wong reached a big milestone by playing small ball against Los Angeles on Oct. 1, 2021. Stepping in as Milwaukee's leadoff man that evening, he lofted a well-placed single the other way and onto the left-field grass. The veteran quickly took off for second, pulling in safely for the 100th stolen base of his big-league career.
