Gene earned All-Rookie Second Team honors after his initial ABA campaign. He has a career point high of 34, he's possessed with a fine shooting touch from the floor and is a fine playmaker. Gene played AAU ball prior to achieving NAIA All-American status 3 times at High Point College.
