On 3/21/02, just a month after winning an Olympic gold medal for Team Canada, Marty etched his name in the NHL record books when he beat Nashville for his 30th win of the year. His milestone tied Hall of Famer Tony Esposito with seven consecutive 30-win campaigns.

Patrik led the Devis with 72 points (35 G, 37 A) during 1999-2000, his second full NHL season. On Dec. 18, 1999. Elias scored two goals in their 5-4 win over Washington, including the third-period game-winner.

Brodeur is one of the top netminders in the NHL. His solid 2.29 goals against average from last season marked the first time in three campaigns that the Devils goalie posted a GAA above 2.00. He is the embodiment of steady play between the pipes and has 36 career shutouts.

Scott Niedermayer

A finesse defenseman who has been compared to Paul Coffey by some scouts, Scott Niedermayer was the third player chosen overall and the first by New Jersey in 1991. Niedermayer was second among Kamloops defensemen in scoring last season and was named to the WHL West first All-Star team and selected as 1991 Canadian Major Junior Scholastic Player of the Year. After starting the 1991-92 season with the Devils, he was returned to Kamloops in November.
