Back to the Front! Redskins card back du jour...

Volney Peters

A former fighting Marine, Pete is a tower of power in the Redskin defense. Big and bullish, he can scramble enemy interference, stop runners cold in their tracks and pounce on passers with his powerful charging. Originally with the Chicago Cards in '52 and '53, Pete came to the Skins in '54, and has been a starting lineman ever since.

Volney was the Univ. of So. California captain in 1950. He was the star lineman in the 1955 Pro Bowl.
