Harvey Kuenn

Harvey Edward Kuenn nicknamed "Harv" was born in Milwaukee before that city became a pennant contender. Harvey is still a youngster as ball players go, and stil! attends the University of Wisconsin during his off season. He entered professional ball at Davenport in 1952 and was pulled into Detroit the same year. Elected Rookie of Year 1953 with sensational defensive play and steady year 'round hitting.

Eddie Mayo

Has played every infield position but first. In organized baseball since 1932 he's been with the New York Giants, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Athletics and the Detroit Tigers since 1944. He led AL third basemen in fielding in 1943 with the A's, and second basemen in 1945, with the Tigers. With the Tigers in 1945 he tied World's Series record for most times at bat in a game with 6.
