Expos Card of the Day

Jim Fairey

Drafted from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Jim had a fine minor league batting record. The outfielder has never hit below .300 in the minors! He was promoted and continued to sock the ball with authority. Last year, Jim was often used as a pinch-hitter. In a game vs. Pittsburgh, he pinch-hit a homer in the 10th inning to beat the Pirates, 3-2.

Jim led the Texas League outfielders with 19 assists in 1966.

Back to the Front! Expos card back du jour...

Tim Foli

The acquisition of Tim along with Ken Singleton and Mike Jorgensen proved to be a fine trade for Expos last season. Tim became Montreal's regular shortstop with his all-out hustle every minute of every game. He plays hard all the time, diving to make stops in field and hustling on the bases.

Tim was married during the 1972 season.
