Del is a long ball hitter, and a seeming fixture in the Philly outfield. He began in baseball in 1943 with Trenton. He joined the Phillies in 1946, has been with them ever since. Del has hit 150 home runs in 7 major league seasons, batted in 665 runs. His 126 runs batted in in 1950 led the league, a big help to the Phillies, who won National League Pennant that year.
