Chuck Diering

A National League veteran, Chuck joined the Orioles last year and became one of the top Baltimore flychasers. Always a speedster, he has the ability to beat out close plays at first base and turn them into hits. This helped him place 2nd in Team Batting last season. Chuck entered the Majors in '47 with the Cards, went to the Giants in '52 and was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1954.

Bill was the talk of the Baltimore Oriole training camp in 1967. The righty won a job on the strength of his spring showing and was with the club when they flew North in April. In 1968, Bill was optioned to learn a new pitch to go along with his fastball and curve.

Came to the majors first with the Detroit Tigers, carrying a tremendous load of advance publicity, tagging him as one of the major's hottest prospects. Colton won the AL Rookie of the Month Award in April 2024, launching into a stellar campaign in which he stoked the Orioles offense. From July 19 to August 4, Cowser compiled a 17-game hitting streak.

Willie Kirkland

Willie was traded to the Orioles last winter for Al Smith. During his minor league career, Willie won many hitting honors. In '53 he led his circuit in triples and RBIs and in '54 he was the batting champ.
