Back to the Front! Reds card back du jour...
Bud Podbielan - Card Back
Bud Podbielan

In his second season with the Redlegs, Bud led the Cincy Mound Staff in Strikeouts in '53. After winning 14 games for Fort Worth in '47 and 13 at Montreal in '48, he earned a trial with the Dodgers. Bud won 5 and lost 4 games for Brooklyn in 1950. He returned to Montreal and rejoined the Brooks in '51. He was traded to Cincinnati in June of '52.

Bud was only 15 when he got into pro ball, signing with Twin Falls. Nine years later his fine record with Montreal won him a Major League contract!
