A two sport star, Frank played professional basketball in the Basketball Association of America for a while, but he gave up the hoop game in favor of baseball. He attended Ohio University. His first year in the majors was 1947 with the Cincinnati Reds when he batted .282 in 151 games. Last season he appeared in 128 games for the Reds, hit .296 and drove in 30 runs. His fielding average was .987.

Joe Nuxhall
It was 10 years ago that Joe first appeared in the major leagues, yet he is only 25 now. At 15 he was the youngest player ever to appear in the major leagues. During two years in Redleg farm system he continued his studies in high school. He played prep ball in 1946, so that he is probably the only boy ever to appear in the big leagues and then return to high school competition. He was All-Ohio in football and basketball in high school.
