Tom has been in the majors ever since he broke in with the Yankees in 1951. In recent years he has pitched with Kansas City, Detroit, and Washington, coming to L.A. before the '61 campaign started. Returning from the Army in '54, Tom had his best season, winning 11.

Shohei Ohtani

Shohei whips the bat through the zone to produce prodigious exit velocities and tape- measure blasts. He also regularly clocks in the high-90s from the pitcher's mound. Ohtani often accomplishes these feats in the same game, making him a truly unique talent. The towering Japanese star oozes power, but he also zips quickly around the bases like a gazelle.
