Discovery Plaza is the 1000 square foot forecourt leading to the Card Cyber Museum - a daily exhibition of 60 sports cards waiting to be discovered beneath your feet! Inspired by the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, where celebrities leave their handprints in concrete, our Plaza features digital frames embedded in the ground - beneath bulletproof glass. Each day brings a new rotation of cards showcasing the incredible sets found within the museum. "Hank" Gowdy's major league playing career stretched from 1910 through 1930. He was a leading National League catcher throughout that period, playing most of the time with the Boston Braves, and the rest with the New York Giants. The 1950 season was Sid's first with a major league club other than the Giants whom he joined in 1941. Shunted to the Boston Braves, he did his usual good job. Hit .304 in 134 games. Drove in 103 runs. Extra-base hits included 33 doubles, 4 triples, 27 homers. Tied a big-time record with 4 grand slam homers in 1 season. Among Sid's 1949 achievements were 26 doubles and a like number of homers.

Steven came out of Baylor University, where he set a record with 28 victories, as the Yankees 4th-round draft pick in 2003. He signed the next spring and won 11 games against four losses for a pair of A-ball squads, posting earned run averages in the mid-2.00s for each. Able to throw his fastball 94 miles-per-hour, he is a leading prospect.

Bradshaw was at his absolute best in the playoffs. Unfortunately for the rest of the league, Pittsburgh was always in the postseason during the 1970s. After steering the Steelers to back-to-back titles in the middle of the decade, he starred in two more Super Bowls and claimed MVP honors in both contests.

The big, strong armed young right hander is regarded as one of the best pitchers in baseball. He had an excellent year with the Cubs in 1952, and is counted upon heavily in their plans for 1953. Bob's 1952 earned run average was 2.70. He began in baseball in 1947 and the next season was in the majors. Prior to this last season he had won a total of 39 games for Chicago.

In addition to the 1909 T206 "The Big Four" (rare cards), the set has two other tough rarities - St. Louis versions of Bill O’Hara and Ray Demmitt.

Another local boy who made good. Ted pitched amateur ball in Detroit in 1941 and soon attracted attention of Tiger scouts, who signed him and sent him to Beaumont. Southern League cards in the 1909 T206 Set feature mostly lesser known players but command more money than regular commons because of their rarity.

Pitched much better in 1950 than his 3-9 record would indicate. Ken was really a hard-luck hurler. In 1949, he had a 17-10 record. Tossed 5 shutouts, and had season's longest winning streak at 9 games. Voted Philadelphia's most valuable player for the year. In Ken's first start in 1951 he lost a tough contest to Boston, 2-1. But he snapped quickly back with a 2-1 victory over the N.Y. Giants.

1909 T206 Set cards have been heavily reprinted and even reprints of the more popular cards like Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb can sell for $10 or more.

Lou has been with three major league teams during his major league service. He is a promising pitcher, who appeared in 19 games for the White Sox in 1952, winning 4, losing a like number. His earned run average, best test of a pitcher's ability, was a nice 2.96. He attended the University of Oklahoma, received a reported. bonus of $35,000 to sign with the Tigers.

In 7 years of pro ball, Ray never had a losing season. At St. Paul in '54 Ray hurled a no hitter. Ray hit a 10th inning single to win his first Braves start.

"Blast" Sandusky bombs through his opposition's line, clearing a path for his carrier. This line of attack results in his being a weary Colt at each game end.
