Discovery Plaza is the 1000 square foot forecourt leading to the Card Cyber Museum - a daily exhibition of 60 sports cards waiting to be discovered beneath your feet! Inspired by the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, where celebrities leave their handprints in concrete, our Plaza features digital frames embedded in the ground - beneath bulletproof glass. Each day brings a new rotation of cards showcasing the incredible sets found within the museum. Four years later he was in armed forces and returned in 1946 to build a fine record with Jacksonville, winning 19 games and striking out 232 batters. Last season he was one of better pitchers in NL. He began season in relief roles, but was soon starting - wound up with a 16-8 record and an ERA of 3.36.

The Dodgers swapped Wayne to the Senators in September of '52. He'd been with the Cubs-since '49 before coming to the Brooks in July of '51. "Twig" had an impressive war record serving with the Marines at Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He's been in pro ball since '48 and came up to the Majors after hitting .278 for Los Angeles in '49. In '50, as a Cub, he hit 10 HR's. 1951 was spent at St. Paul.

BLAND LEADS OFF U.S. WOMEN TO UPSET RELAY WIN - Berlin, Aug. 9, 1936 - Harriet Bland today led off the U.S. women's 400 meter relay team which went on to post a surprising victory over the favored Germans. Miss Bland was equal first with Emmi Albus of Germany after the first leg, but the Germans quickly pulled ahead, only to drop the baton on the last exchange, giving the U.S. an easy victory.
