Name that player!

Anaheim's decision-makers wanted nothing more than to add a dash of veteran know-how to a young defensive rearguard in 2010-11. They brought back a familiar face in Beauchemin, a member of the Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup-winning team. Anaheim acquired the blueliner in a Feb. 9 trade with Toronto.

The Russian town of Togliatti has delivered some superb hockey talents to the NHL, not the least of whom is Pittsburgh's chief sniper, Alexei Kovalev. Ilia, who turned heads in the Ducks' 2001 training camp and later earned a spot on the 2002 AHL All-Star squad, could be the next. Among his ambitions in '01-02 was to master English. His AHL coach at Cincinnati, Mike Babcock, chuckled and said Bryzgalov was coming along fine. "You think his English isn't [that] good until we give up a shorthanded goal and you hear him yelling at the bench."

Terry was one of the NHL's brightest breakout performers during the 2021-22 season as he sent plenty of pucks past opposing goaltenders. The winger netted his first NHL hat trick on Jan. 4, scoring twice in the first period and capping the scoring in the third frame to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.

Paul Kariya
Paul was a 19-year-old pre-NHL Olympian when Sweden took the 1994 gold medal from Canada in a shootout. At 23, he was a sidelined concussion victim when Canada came up short in the '98 Winter Games. But good things do come to those who wait. Kariya was 27 when Canada beat Team USA on 2/24/02 to win Olympic gold with a 5-2 victory.
