Patriots Card of the Day

Tom Brady
After the marriage of his sister Julie, Tom is now the brother-in-law of former Major League Baseball star Kevin Youkilis. Brady, who was drafted as a catcher by the Montreal Expos while in high school, also knows his way around the diamond. A lefty hitter with power, he was known for the same strong arm that has made him a superstar QB now poised in 2014 to become the sixth to pass for 50,000 yards in a career.

Name that player!

A former captain of Notre Dame's Fighting Irish, Nick was told that he was "too small for pro football." Disproving what the critics said, Nick was named the Boston Rookie of the Year in 1962. The Patriots' coach, Mike Holovak, calls Nick "the best middle linebacker in A.F.L." The linebacker led Notre Dame with 74 tackles during his senior season.

Only 1st-year player elected to '96 Pro Bowl, Curtis ran away with every imaginable NFL Rookie-of-the-Year honor. Not only did he lead all AFC backs in rushing with 1,487 yards, but he out-rushed 9 NFL teams! Eric Dickerson, George Rogers and Ottis Anderson are only RBs in NFL history to rush for more yards as a rookie. His 9 100-plus yard rushing efforts broke Jim Nance's all-time Patriots record of 8 set in 1966.

The veteran quarterback recovered from his injuries just in time to star in the 1963 A.F.L. playoff game. He completed 14 passes for an even 300 yards. Babe received the honor of opening as the starting quarterback for the East in the All-Star game at San Diego. Despite a broken collar bone in the 10th game of the season, Babe declares 1962 as his peak A.F.L. campaign.
