Coach Byron Scott was blown away by Jason in '01-02, even invoking the name Magic Johnson: "I've been making that comparison for a long time. Jason Kidd is the second coming of him, only a shorter version... He uplifts his teammates just like Magic."
John returned to the Nets almost one year to the day after being traded to the Pacers and added new life into club's offense almost immediately. A tough competitor, he played a vital part in Nets 1973-74 game vs. Nuggets which clinched the Play-off Championship with 16 points in 4th quarter of the contest.
Possessed with uncanny quickness and timing, Mike also is an outstanding shooter. Voted to the ABA'S All-Defensive Team in 1972-73, his good instincts and passing ability make him a complete quard. Mike was the Colonels 3rd round draft selection in 1971 and was with Kentucky until traded to the Nets during 1973-74 season.
